Tap Ball: Final 24 Hours!

Just a quick message to let you know that there is now less then 24 hours remaining in the Tap Ball event.

Over the next day you should take note of the following information;

• Your Amateur Bucks will be lost at the end of the event so spend them while you can
• Purchase any premium items that you want as they may not stick around when the event ends
• Make sure that you have claimed all of the community prizes
• Make sure that you do your best to obtain all the prizes as they won't be available after the event ends either
• The daily tasks will end tomorrow when the event is removed

Duff Beer Truck Unlocked!

Finally! The prize that I've waited the whole event for has been unlocked!

That's right guys, the Duff Beer Truck has been unlocked. The truck, which was the fourth community prize needed just over 20 million sports balls to obtain and the it appears that goal was reached overnight.

The final community prize, The Gridiron requires just over 25 million sports balls. As of time of writing we are about 2 million away from the target so we should get it tomorrow night!

Third Community Prize Unlocked!

Less than 24 hours after unlocking the second community prize, the community have banded together once again and unlocked the third community prize!

Don't get too excited though, this is by far the least amazing prize in the whole event - 1,000 amateur bucks.

So basically if you want to craft something you didn't have enough for before, go ahead and do it now as you've got this sudden influx of bucks.

The next prize, which is, in my opinion, the coolest one in the event - the Duff Beer Truck - is only 5 million sports balls away!

So join me guys and work work work! I really want that truck, for the community that is...

The Second Community Prize Has Been Unlocked!

Great job everyone, the second community prize, The Springfield Arms, has been unlocked!

It generates income every 24 hours and is an INSTANT build so there's no need to wait!

The third community prize, a measly 1,000 amateur bucks, is just 3 million sports balls away so we should have it in a few hours.

After the user logs in on July 13 and tapping on Homer's exclamation mark: Co-operative Tap Ball is a hit, sweetie! Now it's time to reward yourself by inventing a slew of arbitrary rules. Really? Phase 3 Is LIVE!

Act 3 of the Tap Ball 2015 is now live. This is the final part of the event and will end in approximately 8 days.

There are new prizes, quests, premium purchases and more. The community prize totals have not yet been amended.

Login For Free Doughnuts!

Log into your game now for 10 free doughnuts from EA. These free doughnuts are to compensate for the doughnuts that many lost yesterday after the first community prize was issued.

They also implemented a fix that prevented you from seeing the Tennis Marge skin in your inventory after you unlocked it.

An updated community prize total for each of the remaining prizes is yet to be implemented.

UPDATE: The Case Of The Missing Doughnuts

Just a quick update regarding the missing doughnuts that I just posted about. According to information just coming to hand, EA will apparently be awarding all players an ADDITIONAL 10 doughnuts to compensate for so many players missing the original doughnuts we were awarded yesterday.

So basically, if you were unaffected by the fault and did not lose the 10 doughnuts, you will be awarded and additional 10 doughnuts bringing your total number of free doughnuts to 20. If you were affected by the glitch and lost the original 10 doughnuts, you will be awarded an additional 10 doughnuts also, bringing you total number of free doughnuts back to 10.

Unfair? Yes, but there is nothing that I can do about it for you and I'm sorry about that. Perhaps you could try and contact EA after the new doughnuts are awarded and see if you can get an additional 10 to compensate for the difference.

I'll post an update when the doughnuts have been awarded.

The Case Of The Missing Doughnuts

I've read both here and from other sources that there seems to be an issue regarding the community prize doughnuts. It appears that in some cases after a player is awarded the doughnuts and then leaves and reenters or re-syncs their game the awarded doughnuts have disappeared.

While this has not happened to me, at least on my competition town anyway, I thought it best to investigate it for you and report on the findings. So I contacted EA (which you can do by using the 'Contact EA' tab in the menu above and explained the situation to them, what they told me was very encouraging.

They said that they are aware that this fault is affecting a large number of players and the team is actively working to find and fix the bug as fast as possible. While they did not give me an ETA on when the fix would be made available they did say that all players that are missing their doughnuts would get them back when the fix is implemented.

I will update you on any further developments as they become available although it wouldn't hurt for you to contact EA too, just so they have a record of you reporting that you have this issue aswell.

What Changed In Yesterdays Update?

As I mentioned in a post I put up before I signed off for the night, EA pushed through an update with a focus on the Tap Ball community prizes. Here's everything that was changed;

• Total balls needed for prize one dropped to 3,266,000
• The totals needed for the other prizes have NOT changed... yet
• Drop rate for balls increased from 20% to 68%
• An extra community prize was added - 1000 Amateur Bucks
• The cost of buying balls dropped from 500 Amateur Bucks to 40 Amateur Bucks

If you haven't got the update yet force close the app and clear cache or uninstall and reinstall.

Community Prize Totals Change

It's just past midnight where I am and EA just pushed through an update that, amongst other things, has reduced the totals needed in order to obtain the community prizes.

The first prize, which required over 100 million now requires just 3,266,000 - a much more manageable total considering they also increased the drop rate of balls.

I'll have a complete rundown in the morning but right now I really need to go to bed and sleep.

Community Prizes: Mission Impossible?

Community prizes are a great way to encourage people to partake in the social side of the game and lets face it, people don't do it all that often. Think about it for a second, if you're a high level player, you have no reason to visit friends if you have all of friend prizes and don't need any quick cash or XP.

That's where community prizes come into play - the system encourages you to work with your neighbors in order to win a bunch of prizes that can't be bought with doughnuts or by working alone. That is of course, if the system is properly implemented with realistic and reachable targets.

In order to win the first prize we need to obtain 110,880,000 balls. That, according to our current rate of just 7 balls per second is a staggering 191 DAYS away - The event ends in about two weeks, along with the chance to earn these prizes.

Here's the total needed for each prize and how long it will take to get each prize at our current rate and remember, the rate constantly fluctuates and the time in which we will be able to obtain these prizes and should be adjusted accordingly;

• PRIZE ONE: 10 Doughnuts - 110,880,000 - 192 Days
• PRIZE TWO: Springfield Arms - 230,400,000 - 376 Days
• PRIZE THREE: Taste of Duff Beer Truck - 402,200,000 - 625 Days
• PRIZE FOUR: The Gridirion - 538,040,000 - 1061 Days

So long story short, unless EA does something, and soon, we've just given Tom Cruise the plot for his next Mission: Impossible film. I'll update you with any changes on EA's end.
