Working On The Site Some More

Just a quick update on the process of getting all of the old sites content moved over here.

- I have managed to get a copy of all the pages and am working on writing them again with a view to publishing them soon.

- I am working on an updated version of the events page with a view to including additional information and making it lore user friendly.

- I am working on collecting all of the previous sites posts. This is going to take some time given that there were over 1000 posts published. 

- Once collected, I will begin to rewrite them and publish them, hopefully in the order they were published on the original site.

I will issue another update in due course. Thanks for your continued cooperation while we undergo these changes.

SITE NEWS: Server Link Added

Big news guys, Have you ever wanted to peek into Tapped Out update content server for yourself? Well now you can!

In the menu bar above, I've added a link to view exactly that. You should note though that it will only show you the most recent update and not every update ever released.

Note that this is NOT maintained by me although I am grateful to whoever does maintain it.

More new features are coming to Tapped Out Daily soon. I'll update you on them soon!

What Do You Want Covered?

We all know this site is lacking in content to say the least and while I am working behind the scenes to get everything back to you as soon as I can, it's going to take some time.

In the meantime, is there any content that you want over here first or any posts you want me to write in the interim?

Please leave a comment below and I will begin working on them. I also plan on adding a request section to the site as well for your convenience.

A Race To The Finish...

Over on the official EA forums there's an interesting competition about to kick off featuring a total of 33 players, including me.

The competition, which was set up by Annette (please don't invade her with friend requests) aims to pit players against each other to see who can finish the game first. Now I know a lot of you are saying "how can you finish the game, they add new stuff all the time?", well to explain that I've taken the information and rules from the forum and posted them here for your convenience.

The Challenge
Start a brand-new town, from scratch, and take the town to the top-level by December 31st. If nobody has reached the top at that time, the winner of the challenge will be the person who has made the most progress. 

The Definitions 
"Town" includes Krustyland and Squidport AND FP Prizes. 
"Reaching the Top Level" means that on or before December 31st, you can say "I have nothing in my Task Book except Special-Event-Related tasks"

The Rules 

• No use of real life money, gift-cards, non-game prizes, amazon awards, etc. (You get the point.) 
• No use of glitches. (details in third post in this thread) 
• No use of feeder towns, or "extra" towns or whatever you call it. (You get the point.) (EXCEPTION: Your own main town may be added as a neighbor.) 
• Every competing town must become a mutual neighbor to every other competing town. 
• Use of walkthroughs is permitted.

• First to reach FP "maximum level" pop-up 
• Best Springfield (Open voting) 
• Competitors' Choice Award (Restricted voting) 
• Highest Multiplier as of December 31st, Noon GMT 
• First to reach Five-Star Rating 
• Alarm Clock Maniacs (Group Award) 
• Most Efficient Use of Land While Still Looking Like an Actual Town. 
• The Tetris Town Award

Google Translate Now Available

For the first time in the history of Tapped Out Daily, both past and present, Goggle Translate has been incorporated into this site.

Now you can translate every word of this site into every language that Google Translate supports.

I hope this will make reading the site easier for our international readers.

Our Social Media Accounts

As of right now, our social media accounts are out of action. I will, in the coming days work to rectify the issue and  link them up to this site so you can, once again, get all the latest news on all of you're favourite social media platforms.

I'll let you know when this has been rectified.

Sign Up For Email Updates

You will be required to resign up for email updates as I am unable to migrate the list of email address from one site to another because that information is kept completely private.

You (in theory) should be able to sign up for email updates on the left hand side. All you need to do is follow the onscreen instructions.

You will then begin receiving email updates like you were before.

The New Commenting System

Reading your comments is one of the things I love most about this site and when I went about creating this new site I began to think about how best to incorporate a system that would allow you to do just that.

I know that many of you created accounts in Wordpress just so you could comment and I didn't want to have you make a new account here just so you could comment.

So here's how it's going to work, no account or login is needed to comment on the new site and they do not need to be moderated by me before they are seen. So it should be really easy for you to comment on any and all of the posts that you want to without the added necessity of creating a new account.

That said, this system is provisional  and it can and will be changed if I believe that too many people are advising the system. But, you being the wonderful bunch of people that you are means I should have to worry!

I will publish the websites terms of use and rules soon which will outline this and a few other things.

We Are Back!

Hey guys! I am very excited to finally be back, I miss my internet family when I don't get to communicate with you on a regular basis.

I've had a great week so far, having seen Taylor Swift's 1989 world tour twice this week having waited four years for her to come back to Dublin and now Tapped Out Daily is back! I am pumped to get back to work.

As I'm sure you can tell by the look of the site as it stands right now, is a total and complete mess. Now, it's going to take some time, a lot of time I fact to get this site to the same level of content as our previous one, but fear not my cartoon loving friends, I'll get it done and done to the high standards that both you and I expect.

There are a number of different things about this site compared to our last and I will cover those in separate posts that I'll publish shortly.

This will probably mean then, that I won't get to postings about the actual game about tomorrow so I'll put up a post detailing what I'll be publishing over the course of the next week later tonight and if you like this type of post I will publish it weekly so you'll know what's coming and when. If you want me to cover a specific topic, leave a comment under the post with the scheduling information letting me know and I'll incorporate it into the schedule.
